Midweek Assessment — 25 January

by | Jan 24, 2017

I got my first look at the cover for Meddling and Murder, the next Aunty Lee book!

We’re having some lovely rainy days (and laundry hanging on the balcony).

No floods around here, luckily, but for a moment today I thought there was a fire in the forest reserve… but it was the damp misting.

Reading: Andrew Taylor’s The Anatomy of Ghosts.

Writing: I’m having fun with the fifth Aunty Lee (tentatively titled Fishy Business) and sketching out some ideas for a standalone mystery set in a hospital (spent most of today in NUH for a check up and figured I might as well use it as a setting)

And I’ve finished the first draft of the Betel Red Mystery!!!

It’s an 80,000 word mess at this point—I changed my mind about events, clues, sequences, names… then changed them again. And again. But the first draft is done. And I’m going to take the rest of the night off and start editing tomorrow.

But first, a little chocolate full reward…

No Chinese New Year celebrations for us this year because of my Dad’s death. But wishing everybody Gong Xi Fa Cai~恭喜發財~—the Year of the Fire Rooster is coming!
