Midweek Assessment: March!

by | Mar 1, 2017

It’s March!
It feels like I’ve been staying home writing so long that even a trip to the dentist is an event! This was my pre-Hawaii trip (always get a check up before traveling!) and all’s good here…
I love my new ‘home’ station, BeautyWorld on the Downtown Line because of the Commuter Sketches displays here:

March feels like the real start of the year. I still haven’t finished the 2nd draft of the book I’m working on, but at least the end is in sight.

We’ve been getting some lovely rainy weather here, along with muddy paws and a grouchy chihuahua who doesn’t like being near other wet dogs.

And a pleasant surprise—I thought the season was over, but durians have resurfaced. Bliss is lunching late on super, dark yellow, soft-under-elastic-skin, very rich and slightly bitter durian with the rain coming down outside while going through my Anthony Award Nomination lists and finding I don’t remember reading any novellas last year…

But back to writing now. I’m going to push as hard as I can now, then taking a complete break for the Left Coast Crime Convention, March 16-19.

Honolulu Havoc here I come!
